I know what you're thinking... what does "sustainable toilet paper" mean and why does it even matter? Toilet paper is a product that no one cares about, but everyone has to have it.
The reason sustainable toilet paper options are important is because 27,000 trees are chopped down every single day to make toilet paper. Another number that might blow your mind is that we flush 40,000 worth of trees down the toiler per day.
Let me simplify this situation for you if you haven't noticed the trend yet. We are flushing more trees down the toilet per day than we are cutting down per day, which is COMPLETELY unsustainable. This is why sustainable toilet paper options such as recycled toilet paper or bamboo toilet paper are important.
There are a couple of different types of tree-free toilet paper options, but the biggest two are recycled toilet paper and plant-based toilet paper.
Recycled Toilet Paper is one of the few options of sustainable toilet paper there is, but it is also not that great of an option for a few reasons. People usually hear the word recycled and automatically think it's a good thing, but recycled toilet paper is processed with harmful chemicals such as BPA. Recycled toilet paper does help save forests, but you have to deal with the harmful chemicals that can cause cancer and other long term health complications.
Plant-based toilet paper is the other main option that consumers have to choose from. The main types of plant-based toilet paper are bamboo and hemp. Both are great options if you are trying to save the forests, but bamboo is way more accessible since hemp and hemp by-products were just recently legalized in the United States.
Bamboo toilet paper is by far the best option when it comes to sustainable toilet paper for a multitude of reasons. The main reasons are the quality, sustainability, and softness.
Packaging is another important factor when it comes to the sustainability of a product. Most toilet paper is sold in plastic, which either can't be recycled or just isn't for whatever reason.
Most modern bamboo toilet paper companies took this into consideration and made sure that their packaging was plastic-free and made from recyclable and biodegradable materials.
I hope this blog post has been an eye-opener when it comes to sustainable toilet paper and why it is important for everyone to consider switching to an eco-friendly and sustainable toilet paper option such as Bampoo.

]]>I know it sounds very unrealistic, but it is 100% factually true. We are cutting down trees, which are vitally important for oxygen production, to wipe our asses and flush down the toilet. In 2017, it was estimated that we lost 40 football fields of trees every minute due to deforestation. This process is completely unsustainable and is only going to get worse as the worldwide population continues to increase year over year. This blog is my attempt to educate more people on this issue and let them know that they can help reverse it before it is too late.
The textile industry has been around for decades and are entrenched into our societal fabric just as much as oil, mining, banking, etc. From a quick glance, people wouldn't think of the textile industry as a negative, but what most people don't realize is that the process of turning raw wood into paper is a dirty, carbon emitting process that destroys our ozone layer. I will admit that some companies within this industry are moving towards using renewable energy during the textile making process, but that still doesn't fix the problem of deforestation. I am afraid these greedy companies will never stop cutting down our forests, which is why it up to us to fix the issue.
There are tons of ways you can make a difference, but I will list three easy ones that anyone can take part in.

Most people do not realize that Bamboo is easily one of the most valuable plants on this planet. Most people think of Bamboo as just Panda food, but it is much more than that. I can confidently say that Bamboo is one of the most renewable and useful resources on our planet. Now sit back and relax as I guide you through the wonderful world of Bamboo.
The word Bamboo originates from the Malaysian word, "Mambu." We don't know its exact origin, but we do know that it naturally grows on five out of the seven continents. It can be found the most in the tropical and subtropical climates of Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Many people do not realize that Bamboo is actually a species of grass and there are 1,575 types of bamboo species. Now I am going to tell you two crazy facts about Bamboo that proves its' resilience and usefulness.
Bamboo is the most RENEWABLE resource in the whole word and I have the facts to prove it. Bamboo grows to full maturity within 1-3 years unlike trees, which take around 30 years to grow to maturity. This means large bamboo plantations can be grown and harvested around 20-25 different times before a forest of trees can grow enough to be harvested for use. New trees would have to be replanted after their use unlike bamboo, which can be harvested without needing to be replanted. Bamboo also uses 30% less water & creates 35% more oxygen than trees do. Why am I comparing Bamboo to trees you might ask. I compare Bamboo to trees because it can be used for almost every single purpose that trees are used for so why are we constantly cutting down our precious forests?
Bamboo has TONS of different uses and products that it can be made into. For example, Bamboo can be used to make clothes, bed sheets, underwear, socks, pillows, mattress covers, scaffolding, building materials, and building support. It can also be made into household products such as toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, facial tissues, toothbrushes, straws, cutlery, etc. The list goes on forever! The real question is, Why don't more people know about the amazing benefits that Bamboo products offer them? This is one question that we aim to solve when it comes to Bamboo toilet paper (It's our specialty if you can't tell). Bamboo toilet paper is super soft, very strong, highly absorbent, biodegradable, and a million times better for the environment than tree-made toilet paper. Also, you'll never have to worry about buying toilet paper again since we deliver bamboo toilet paper right to your front door. Our mission here at Bampoo is to convince people to ditch their tree-made toilet paper for our super soft, Eco-friendly Bamboo toilet paper. Making the switch to Bampoo can help reduce our carbon footprint which saves our planet, help reduce our paper consumption which saves our forests, and allows us to donate to organizations whose sole purpose is to save the Earth from our own destruction. Help Bampoo save the Earth one poop at a time.
